The Marina Trench formed due to a convection boundary. Convergent boundaries are plates that move towards one another. When they collide, subduction usually takes place. The denser plate gets subducted or goes underneath the less dense one. Sometimes, the plate boundaries also experience buckling. Convergent boundaries are responsible for producing the deepest and tallest structures on Earth.
The Marina Trench is located in the Pacific ocean and was formed when the plates collided and went ontop of one another.
